I am breaking up with a favorite restaurant

That sucks. I just hope restaurant karma is in operation: i.e "have a good meal and they tell 5 people have a bad meal and they'll tell 20"
my wife and i have put so many places on our banned list that there are very few left. we may need to move to a new city soon :D
i hate when that happens. we have this street in town that used to be chock full of great restaurants, now they're new mottos are quantity over quality. there are only a few left! the madness..
I think the key point for meditation is "it was nearly closing." Anyone in food service will understand. Go back and give them another chance, but don't wait until the last minute this time.
I've actually worked in food service, which is why I understand the temptation to slack just before closing so you can get your sidework done and get the balls out of there. But in this case, we asked whether or not it was too late to come in, out of respect for their hours, but were asked to come in and sit down anyway, reassured that it was fine and that they would be happy to take us. It's a small bistro, so the wait staff was basically all within earshot and saw us come in. I don't know, it's actually not the first negative experience we've had at this place, but this one was by far the crummiest.
Nadia, I love chortling the virtues of a good restaurant from the rooftops and love selling products and services I adopt to everybody I know. Unfortch I do the same thing when I've been scorned. Scorned, I say!
Which city is that? Sounds like a good candidate for staying in and preparing the food you like yourself!
I'm sorry for your loss.
My sympathies.

Three formerly favorite places on my street have been put on the "feh!" list. Now we have to brave the muni for food. Horrors!

Next time, if you see the martinis on the counter go get them yourself. You'll be doing everyone a favor.
That's too bad.. I used to live 2 blocks from there. Luckily you have plenty more options in the neighborhood!

St. Germain is still fun for drinks and light eats, or Harvest Vine.. or Crush... or Rovers.. or Nishino.. or go up to Cremant... :)
